The Sisters promoted practising safer sex (practising sex of all sorts, truth be told) and personal responsibility. In addition to publishing their Cum Clean pamphlet, the Sisters felt it was important to encourage everyone to have regular STD check-ups.
One way to support people who were waiting for confirmation of possible infection (and thus, not ‘on the market’ for sexcapades) was to bless their ‘goodies’ and provide them with a supply of Perpetually Indulgent Rainchecks. These allowed the person to express their interest in someone, while behaving in a responsible manner.
